Communitive Stoichiometry

Some folks spend a lifetime learning. Always hoping to continue the conversations that will enhance the world. Bringing back old memories with a modern smile and tying together life’s collaborations. Connections we find through experimentation. This lab work is a necessary diligence to find a balance with nature and man.

Years ago, I stayed for a day filled with shopping and going to the movies. We’d been to see Forest Gump, where I fell asleep. Must’ve been saving my energy for the checkout register. Big Michael was quite generous when adding to my GI Joe collection. He asked when we should stop; only to be met with, “shop ‘til we drop.”

My reflection of those days brings me a modern humility. He was so willing to spoil a young man and open his home. However, I had pressed for more and shamelessly missed how blessed I already was. This is an attitude I would never want to repeat or experience from another. Ironically, I’ve been listening to his struggles for expansion.

Our State is held together with a series of communities that are made up of individuals. After retirement, the good Doctor took pride in his town by becoming the first Mayor. One of his dreams was a nature trail. Like lithification, the timeline is a prolonged and unpredictable struggle. Folks must agree to part ways with property in order for the vision to be complete.

Who better to work out this chemistry than an expert on the subject. Dr. Reimann, Professor Emeritus, (Latin for “veteran soldier”) helped craft a wealth of knowledge that’s shaping the world around us. Often honored, like being the Citizen of the Year, he’s still engineering The Falcon Trail. Currently over nine miles developed, still hungry for more.

Soft-spoken and laid back, he’s amongst the tallest in the room. Constantly learning and full of wisdom, while still the best listener. Retaining his youth and spirit, despite the trials of time. Theda’s portrait resting above the living room they shared for a half-century. Truly ferocious in stature, the whole-hearted daughter of Napoleon. We all miss her.

Family can come in so many forms. A lawyer and doctor for son and daughter. The widespread graduates he taught for five decades. Aspiring grandchildren expanding into business and artistry. Godfather to an eternally thankful namesake. His organic approach to life has built a path we should all aspire to walk upon. No matter where we are…
